You cannot get this wrong
Today is the first day of Louise Fletcher's online Find Your Joy workshop, and this was our exercise for this morning: to divide a large piece of paper into sections with tape, and to paint the whole thing with whatever tools you like plus 3 colors and black.
When you're done, you rip the tape off, share your results on the class facebook page, and here's what she says about that: "Take some time to look at everyone else’s work – notice how different they all are. This difference is KEY! You all had the same instructions but look how differently you interpreted them. These might not yet be good paintings … but they are something only you could have made. What’s very important to remember is that we are not making paintings. There are no prizes for making your work look nice – you do not need to worry about colour or composition or painting anything real – just let go and play with paint. You cannot get this wrong!!"
Isn't that a lovely thought -- you cannot get this wrong?
