Art in dark times

I elected not to wrap it in newspaper -- partly because I couldn't find enough newsprint that looked and said the way I'd hoped. And in a way it's a holy mess at this point, but I've decided I'm okay with that. It expresses the violence of my feelings.

... and maybe now that's done I can consider going back to tackling non-controversial work? Life's been intruding a lot lately, lots of workmen in the house fixing things now that the bans have been lifted, and it's hard to concentrate with all the noise and interruptions -- which may also be why this piece seems a bit disconnected...

But I don't regret it; I think it was a good exercise. And it makes a nice mate to this one, which was done a while back, after the school shootings...
